In 2015, Lunigiana offers a number of activity holidays for those wishing to enhance specific skills while enjoying good food, sight seeing and relaxation in the beautiful Lunigiana countryside. Courses range from yoga, learning Italian, knitting, painting, creative writing and photography to cooking and Thai yoga massage. All courses include accommodation as well as instruction, in English, by experienced tutors.
In 2015, Lois and Bill Breckon at The Watermill at Posara near Fivizzano are celebrating 25 years of offering activity holidays. They started with painting courses, expanded into creative writing, and more recently knitting and Italian language courses.
This year, the Watermill has are over a dozen different painting courses on offer – something for all techniques and levels of ability. Each course has a different tutor, all of whom are very experienced, and some have won awards. There are two creative writing courses, also with different tutors, three knitting courses and an Italian language course. Non-participating partners are welcome to tag along, and extra nights and activities can be arranged for attendees wishing to spend time in Florence.
Courses are held at the beautiful and historic watermill on the River Rosaro, just a few kilometres from the walled medieval town of Fivizzano with its cafés, restaurants and shops. For more information, visit The Watermill’s website.
