Lunigiana’s first car boot sale comes with a twist

Lunigiana car boot saleLunigiana’s first “bootsale” is to be held in Costamala on Saturday, 3 December 2011, and thereafter on the first Saturday of each month. Based on the British car boot sale - the selling of second-hand items in good condition direct to the public, using your car boot as your market stall at a specially arranged venue – the Lunigiana version has a twist. No money will change hands. In its place will be a system of bartering.

In the current financial climate, the bootsale aims to provide a way to help people with unwanted items to obtain goods that they need. It is hoped that this recycling of unwanted articles will help save money, reduce the impact on the environment of discarding unwanted items, as well as building stronger bonds between local people.

To participate in the bootsale, you must be a private individual. Items of all kinds can be swapped provided they are in good condition and fit for purpose. Photographs must be available of all large items that can’t be put on display.

Location: Centro Polivalente Icaro, Costamala (Licciana Nardi)

Date: First Saturday of the month

Time: 14:00 – 18:00
