Lunigiana’s first artisan brewery, Birrificio Del Moro, is now open and producing excellent beer. Its launch In January saw the introduction of a light Weiss larger produced from wheat instead of barley called la Dama del Deserto, and an amber ale called l’Alambra. Most recently, it launched a strong 7.5% Belgium-type beer called la Statua StAle, pronounced Stéil, a play on the words Stele, the Stele Statues being a symbol of Pontremoli where the brewery is based, and STrong Ale.
